#DIVINITY ORIGINAL SIN 2 POLYMORPH SKILL BOOKS VENDORS SKIN#
Rouge - can use skin graft to reset abilities and become mobile again and also charmeleon so they don't get focusedĪrcher - can use spread wings to get high ground bonusesĭex build - bull horns pretty much a dex themed charge to get close Tank Char - can use heart of steal to be more tanky Melee strength char - can use tentacle as a physical range Originally posted by The_K00lDude:it seems that polymorph is a support skill line, somthing you don't need but can be usefull in certain situations kind of thing. I don't find Polymorph any worse than Warfare for instance, you simply have to be more creative with Polymorph to make good use of it if you focus on it.Īs for the Spears as every type of weapon it's quite luck based, the Act 1 isn't super generous in good unique Spear but you can still have the chance to get an Epic quality one that kicks butts and hopefully there will be more unique Spears that are stronger later on. It can be beneficial to have a character or two that are much more flexible and can react to any type of situation and don't rely too heavily on one precise strategy. I don't think that being master of none is a bad thing as long as it makes sense in your overall party. None other school allows for so much flexibility which does mean that anyone can spend points in Polymorph to learn what they want to be more effective at what they do or that you can have one character jack of all trades but master of none. If you think about it, even in the current version (which doesn't have all spells available obviously) you have very varied options available: damage from a distance, bleed-charge, best mobility with wings, invisiblity, heavy tanking (which will become a source spell so don't rely too much on it, I mean graft skin), chicken transform and I probably forget one or two. I think that a pure Polymorph could be an interesting gameplay actually. We should really be able to make a "DEX-fighter" like in good old AD&D times. nice, but I always dropped these because there is no use for them. Sidenote: The spear we get from Withermoore and the one we find in the stronghold are. The additiobal stat point lets me afford a point or two in STR, so that the tentacle lash will be more efficient over time.įrom what I read on this forum, your statements and my experiences, I think that a "pure" polymorph ( at least as it is in it's current state) would not be as viable as a hybrid of I find it pretty useful for a rogue as example because of that invisibility skill. Having a few Spear-based abilities would have been really neat (like magic jalevin throw, super jump, a big piercing charge forward going through armor etc.) I wish Spears had more uses and didn't felt like after-thought shoe-horned into the game. (like going for Fighter, Knight or Inquisitor if you want a close-range fighter with polymorph skills, pick a ranger, wayfarer if you want a ranged one etc). I recommend picking the type of build you want and then put points in Polymorph when your character levels up. Technically you could play a dextrous spear-using Polymorph but forcing it on is really annoying and is a big waste of attributes for any other build you want to go for. I personally strongl recommend to never use the Polymorph archetype as the choices made for it are really stupid. I sadly think Polymorph is counted as Dextrous only because it would even the number of classes in each categories and those categories aren't super relevant anyway as the Battlemage is litterally in-between two categories and present in only one.Īs for why the Metamorph starts with a spear and dexterity I think it's because none other archetype uses spears so they put it here by default because it wouldn't fit anywhere else.
